Military hospital set up by Dr. Otto. Congress ordered him to Trenton on Feb. 17, 1777 to establish a military hospital for the treatment of smallpox. He remained there until September 1777. The hospital was in use from 1777 to 1781. |

Plaque: To the glory of God and in the honor of the patriotic spirit of our ancestor Dr. Bodo Otto, and his three sons, who served their adopted country at Washington Hall, a hospital in Yellow Springs, Pennsylvania, attached to the Valley Forge encampment of General George Washington in the winter of 1777-78 during the Revolutionary War. Dr. Bodo Otto, Sr. (1711-1787) Dedicated, on this day of our Lord, Sunday, June 25, 2006, in loving memory and tribute, by their descendants, The Dr. Bodo Otto Family Association. |
