The reunion dates are set! – Friday, June 23rd through Sunday, June 25th, 2017
The above dates have been reserved for the annual Bodo Otto family reunion! Please mark your calendars, and those of you still working we would love for you to plan a vacation around those dates.
Our Vice President Terry Johnson and her husband Paul have already been busy making plans for us. They have met with Charlie Morgan (Charles) a descendant of Dr. Frederick Christopher Otto who is helping them. Charlie descends from the Frederick line thru his daughter Margaret who married Jonathan Morgan. Charlie is a volunteer at the Atlantic County Historical Society, a member of SAAR (meets at Smithville Tavern) and very active with his genealogical research.
Terry also is planning a visit along with Charles Morgan to Friesburg church to meet with the pastor there and see about a tour of the church and cemetery. They also plan a visit with a local historian.
Of note —
Paul’s half-brother, Harvey Johnson, a WWII Army Air Corps hero who sacrificed his own life and saved a community near London in 1942, is buried in a cemetery off Route 9 which is not too far away. I have suggested that it might be fitting to honor him with a visit at his grave site and have a short memorial service.
Many things are being looked at so we can have a fun-filled time next June. More information will be coming in the next three newsletters. Stay tuned! Also make suggestions.
We are looking for more volunteers to help Terry and her team, so if you live in the southern New Jersey area and would like to help please let Terry know. Her contact info is:
